Get Stoned

I recently lost my mother, one of the most profound losses of my life. As we were preparing for the unveiling, and trying to think of everything we needed to make the day run smoothly, it dawned on me that there are never enough rocks to leave on the headstone and always when we go to visit our departed loved ones, we are searching for stones. That is how Get Stoned got started. I made little baggies with rocks for each of my siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and children for us to place on my mother's headstone. Each one had a personalized message and when we placed them all on the headstone it just felt like my Mom could read each message and feel all of our love. That was our experience. It made a very hard day, just a little bit easier and we all just felt connected somehow. I share with you below, Get Stoned. Feel free to use some of the things we did or write your own. Of course the more personal, the better!
